Discover why a tiara makes the perfectbridal headpiece

Ever since Lady Diana Spencer wed the Prince of Wales on July 29, 1981 - wearing the Spencer family diamond tiara - brides and tiaras have been synonymous.

To complete the picture, the new princess wore a silk taffeta dress with a 25-foot train. Her veil was held in place with the Spencer family diamond tiara, a show stopping bridal headpiece. In her arms, she held lilies-of-the-valley, white freesia, golden roses, and stephanotis. But for many women, it was the tiara they remembered and want to emulate today.

Luckily, today's brides do not have to be a member of the royal family to wear a tiara. As the bride, you're already "a royal" for the day and, as such, a tiara is completely acceptable, as well as fashionable.

Tiaras come in several styles and are made of a host of materials. Most have some level of bling, but they should never be over the top. Best of all, they are completely appropriate for the formal setting of a wedding.
